Georgia coach Kirby Smart is optimistic that several injured starters will be available on Saturday when the Bulldogs host No. 9 Auburn.
According to Smart, tackle Tyler Catalina, wide receiver Reggie Davis, defensive lineman Trent Thompson and linebacker Natrez Patrick should be available this week.
“We’ve got a lot of guys beat up, banged and bruised,” Smart said during his press conference Monday. “We’re trying to get each one back as healthy as we can. Each one, I do think will be back or have a shot to be back.”
Thompson, whose 35 tackles lead Georgia’s linemen, suffered a hip pointer in the first half of Georgia’s win at Kentucky. His run-stopping presence would be sorely missed if he can’t suit up.
Catalina, a graduate transfer who has started each game this season, had a leg injury against Kentucky.
Davis left the Kentucky game with a shoulder injury. He has eight receptions for 97 yards.
Patrick is tied for the team lead in tackles with 55.
Smart said wide receiver Jayson Stanley (foot) will not play and defensive lineman DaQuan Hawkins-Muckle (ankle), who has 18 tackles, is questionable.
