Georgia received a recruiting Christmas gift Sunday as four star linebacker Nate McBride committed to the Bulldogs.

The Vidalia High School athlete, rated as one of the top two inside linebackers in the country, is quite a coup for Kirby Smart. McBride was hotly pursued by Alabama, Auburn and Oregon, among others. The Army All-American is the 12th rated recruit in the state and has all the tools…..he plugs the run, has exceptional coverage skills, is extremely fast, can pressure the quarterback from the edge and has that football savvy.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound McBride anchored Vidalia’s  state champion 4×100 relay team. He recorded 115 tackles and an interception as a senior.

In a video posted by Dawgnation.com, McBride stated , “I want to play for a great team and I’ve always wanted to commit to the G”.

That’s 20 commitments for the 2017 class and Georgia may move up to number 2 in the recruiting rankings. Outside linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer was McBride’s primary recruiter. He’ll enroll in Athens this summer and DawgNation couldn’t be more thrilled to land the South Georgia product.
